The reason you wear proper clothing
Well the morning commute didn't go quite to plan. I was lucky and managed to stay upright, but got bounced off a car into a wall whilst travelling along a dual carriageway. People obviously no longer actually look in their mirrors. So if anyone wants some gear recommendations, I have the following: ...

Re: Satnav vs Mounted Phone
I use my iPhone 5SE with a quadlock mount and mapsme software. I have imported TET routes and use it no problem. It's used on a KTM 690 so vibration is there. Phone still works although the battery is degraded, and not too many problems, although sometimes MapsMe does make 'interesting' route choice...

A 175kg (dry) 450cc motorbike. No thankyou. But then again there isn't much that could beat my 690,
for weight and power.

Re: Waterproof bike boots.
Ok, N O T what you are asking about, but.... I go for the safety features when it comes to boots. And this was proved to me when I had a simple low speed slide a few years ago. Had I not been wearing my enduro boots I would have had a smashed leg and ankle, because it was so low speed, the bike simp...

New Jacket
As the season is nearing spring start here, just a word of caution.
After buying a new jacket and disposing of the old one, I am certain it would have been prudent
to ensure the pockets were empty in the old jacket.
Now, where is the damn key....

Re: It's 1971 again!
After initially considering a Triumph Scrambler 1200, the heat from the high exhaust is leg melting and nullified any idea of buying one. An underslung pipe with kicked up silencer option would surely help sales. Looks really nice though. Zard Exhausts.... Not cheap though. https://officineitaliane...

Re: Best tyre-changing video ever?
I have yet to have problems changing tyres using my Motion Pro tyre levers. Have changed all tyres by hand.
This includes bridstone AX41, Mitas E-07 and Heidenau tyres. I do always have a 3rd lever to hand though.
But a good video.

Weight, think of the weight.
790/ 890/ 901 are good bikes. I have a 2019 690 that has had no issues since new.
