i have camped alot in there and midges depend on where you camp...only ever had the odd time with them and the rest perfectly fine...they tend to be near water most of the time but not the sea usually but hey....who knows....they have a mind of there own...lol...guess i have always been lucky...anyw...

i have travelled the islands alot in my 4x4 and not bike although hoping to change that this year. only problem with the island hopper it is restricted to two or three islands. you cant just go from one to another and so on. the ferry companies only run the more popular islands from the main stream....
