Re: Brexit finally happens

Well I went to an info meeting yesterday organised by the British Embassy, here in Norway. My conclusion is I am applying for a Norwegian passport, because after 01.01.2021, as a brit you may as well have an Iranian passport if you want to travel and live within the EU. If that’s meant to be humoro...

Re: Panniers or Topbox? Or May be both?

My F800GS has had Jesse Panniers and Top Box for the last 90,000 miles or so. Top quality kit, the kids take a soft bag under the clever grid that holds them in. Super kit. However, it’s time for the 800 to go and the next bike, 700 Tenere, may well end up with Bumot soft bags.....although Moto Mosk...

Re: Have great New Year

I’ll join in with sending good wishes for the new year to the collected masses.

It’s just another day really but there is bacon cooking so 2020 is off to a good start.

The bikes are back.

With thanks to Roddy, Kathy and the team at MotoFreight our bikes are back with us. The sea shipping was arranged by MotoFreight for us via a company in the US. The container that our bikes were in had a short rest from travelling in Antwerp as some of the ships were out of sync with their schedules...

Re: Aibnb?

I prefer Booking.com for on the day reservations as for a lot of the Airbnb places you have to send a request and wait for confirmation although as has mentioned above some are instant reservation. For me, Booking.com is my go to place. I search an area, sort the list in to cheapest first and then s...

Re: Great news! USA and Canada Insurance

If you need to suppply an address for insurance, could you not just use the address of a hotel you are staying at. This is what I did when I was working in Germany, registering for work/ living etc, before I found more permanent accomadation. You could, until you try and make a claim and the insura...

Re: Great news! USA and Canada Insurance

I got the quote back, I am glad I was sat down at the time I opened it. $1942 for Comprehensive, Collision, Trip Interruption and Roadside assistance. This also includes Liability and Medical payments of $2,000. that quote is based on 6 months and me being 50 year old rider, my bike is a 2016 BMW R...

Re: Great news! USA and Canada Insurance

When we used SG we paid $475 per bike for 6 months cover.
We entered through Houston International airport which SG said was fine.
The cover was $200,000 combined liability for bodily injury and property damage.

That is third party only, no theft cover and no accidental damage cover.
