Re: Alps Holiday Video

Two up I can understand the full luggage, solo riding, just seems ridiculous, who needs 100 litres of luggage riding alone. Travel lite, wash yer gear as you go, easy peasy and save on fuel due to not having the wind drag of panniers.

Great vid, editing is superb.

Re: Alps Holiday Video

Quite enjoying this, half way through, just the one question though, as someone who is just back from the Alps and done it many times, I'm always intrigued why a solo rider requires full panniers and topbox ? In all the times I've been I've needed a topbox and possibly a tankbag for odds and ends.

Re: Alps advise

Austria through Innsbruck to take in the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Then back across for the Stelvio, Umbtail, Albula and San Bernardino passes You are now near monte blanc and a straight ride home If you're going via Innsbruck, it's the Timelsejoch pass that is nearer, it's a bit of a hike to...

Re: Ullapool

If you're going up the A87 past Eilean Donan then at Sheil Bridge take the left turn for the Glenelg ferry, then the next right towards Totalg and enjoy 5 miles of varied road surface alongside Loch Duich which ends up opposite the castle. Different riding style needed compared to the A87 on the op...

Re: MCN - Tenere 700 v KTM 790 Adventure R

The Yam has taken years to bring to market and whilst cheap repeats all the previous mistakes - overweight and under powered. If you think it's under powered then you're looking at the wrong bike. I've went from 125bhp to 94bhp and if I then get a ten 700 it'll be down to 72bhp and at no time has t...

Re: New Tenere 700

I'm tempted to wait til early next year as there seems to me nothing to actually gain by ordering now given I'm not likely to see it, at best in October and as said above, my days of riding in winter are long gone.

Re: New Tenere 700

The biggest part of this is this:- if RandG is happy with the deal he’s been offered then it’s a good deal! End of. I would say that is pretty much the bottom line. I would be very surprised if my ATAS is only worth £8699 though, it has less than half the mileage quoted above and is also a DCT mode...

Re: New Tenere 700

I'm under no illusions there are making off of it but a new, lighter bike as a straight swap does have an appeal.
