I have the R35. It is heavy to pick up but once on the weight is carried very well.
it will take a back protector and i believe a 3 ltr reservoir which they do.
I would say though that if i were carrying expensive electrical equipment i would not rely on the bag being waterproof.

Great Jacket and the GI Pants are brilliant. I have Forcefield Level 2 Armour in mine and its so comfortable.

Any merino wool should be good. I use a Halverssons one which is a mix of merino and outlast, its warm and very comfortable. No itching, be careful as if you can get itchy wearing wool it gets on your tits. For warmth i use an EDZ Yetti fleece. The idea with a base layer is not to sweat, thats what ...

With some APPS, Rocket Player does it for sure, you can set it to restart when you connect headphones.
