Starting in Lhasa, the 18-day tour will head along the Friendship Highway to Everest Base Camp before continuing west on the Silk Road, past the Tibetan Lakes, to the regional capital of Kashi in western Xinjiang, an ancient crossroads and famous for its bazaar.

“We’re looking for adventurous spirits who are seeking a unique experience and like a challenge,” says HC-Travel’s David Grist. “If that’s you, please contact us!”

The tour’s itinerary is unfixed and will run a mix of bikes including Royal Enfields, Chinese bikes and possibly KTMs. There will also be less than the usual level of organisation, as this is a ‘recce’ tour. Prices are expected to be around £3,500-£4,000 per person, plus UK-Beijing return flights.
