First bike?
Yamaha WR125R

Current bike?
Yamaha WR125R. I am a new rider so I’m currently still riding my 125. I did my CBT in July 2021 and got my full licence in October ‘21.

Dream bike?
Difficult question. I want something light and suitable for on and off-road riding. Most of the big adventure bikes are way too heavy for me. The Honda CRF300 Rally seems like a good option. So right now, for the style of riding I want to do, and my physical ability, the Honda is my dream bike.

Most expensive motorcycle accessory you’ve ever bought?
My interphone comms kit has been the most expensive accessory so far. My partner and I have great banter and we haven’t had a comms domestic just yet. As a new rider, it’s also super useful being able to communicate if we get separated or there are issues along the way.

Mountain passes or desert pistes?
I haven’t experienced the desert yet so ask me again in a year or so. My heart says mountain passes but I can’t wait to be proven otherwise.

Tent or hotel?
I love camping. However, when on the bike, I would say hotel. After a long day in the saddle, I appreciate a hot shower, comfy bed, and most of all, a freshly pulled pint by a log fire.

Lifelong ambition?
I have always wanted to travel the world. I was in a serious accident many years ago as a passenger in a car and it really does make you see the world differently. We’re here for a good time not a long time after all. I have a son who is nine years old and my dream would be to take him as a pillion rider and see the world together.

Most dangerous motorcycling moment?
Heading out in freezing fog was perhaps not the best idea. As I descended down from the Yorkshire Moors, I turned down a pleasant-looking country lane, but as the lane took a sharp left, my partner riding in front of me didn’t. His back end went sideways and he continued sliding forwards on black ice. I also skidded but I managed to remain upright. It was terrifying. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic.

Most memorable motorcycling moment?
I would say my very first off-road section of the Trans Euro Trail (TET) in the Forest of Bowland. I did my CBT and then immediately threw myself into a three-day TET weekend trip with my partner. My anxiety and nerves were on overdrive but I was also super excited to achieve a huge ambition of mine.

What do you miss most when travelling?
My son and my dog. However, I’m hoping this summer my son can share some of my adventures as pillion. I’m not so sure about the dog.

If you could meet any person, dead or alive, and ask them one question, who would it be and why?
I would really like to meet Noraly Schoenmaker (YouTuber Itchy Boots) and ask her how she has the confidence as a female rider to travel alone. I watch many of her videos and I’m in awe of her carefree, confident attitude while travelling the world.

Favourite crap joke?
Why was the tomato rushing to buy himself a motorcycle? Because he wanted to ketchup with his friends.
