This All-American Road will take you through some of the USA’s most awe-inspiring scenery
It’s safe to say the USA isn’t short on iconic roads that wind their way through stunning landscapes.
Well, here’s another one to add to your bucket list, the magnificent Beartooth Highway.
Running 68 miles through an awe-inspiring landscape, Beartooth Highway is regarded as one of the USA’s most scenic rides. It’s even been recognised by the US Government as one of only 30 ‘All-American Roads’ in the country, which identifies it as something of a national treasure. Lying in the shadow of the vast Beartooth Mountain Range, it winds its way from Red Lodge in Montana to the northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. At its best, the road climbs a series of steep zigzags and tight switchbacks to a heady height of 3,337m, before opening up into a series of flowing bends and straights that give riders a chance to enjoy the magnificent views on offer.
Heavy snowfall closes the road from mid-October to mid-May, so you’ll need to plan any trip carefully to ensure you can travel the full length of the Beartooth Highway for yourself. This isn’t one you’ll want to miss, that’s for sure.
