Scraping the ice off my car was pretty emotional this week, I really do dislike the cold. However, that being said, it has been nice to see the sun and cheery blue skies, so I can’t complain too much. The weather is going to be a bit blustery and rainy on Saturday, but Sunday is looking sunny and bright, which is ideal if you’re hoping to get out on the bike this weekend.

So, let’s take a closer look at what we can expect over the next couple of days.

Friday’s weather forecast:

A damp and dull start this morning, but the cloud and rain should clear by this afternoon with cold air pushing it away to the south. Sunshine and blue skies should start to creep through for most of us today, with the odd shower in Scotland and the west of England.

Cloud will settle in later on this evening and we can expect heavy rain to hit parts Northern Ireland and the west of England. Over the course of the night, this rain will start move down to central and southern England, leaving the rest of the UK fairly dry.

Saturday’s weather forecast:

Unfortunately, the heavy rain will linger in southern England for most of the day, but the rest of the UK will remain mainly dry and overcast. Some showers are expected in the morning over parts of northern Scotland and Northern Ireland, however, once we’ve passed lunchtime, there will be sunny intervals for northeastern parts of the UK.

Saturday evening will be overcast with some showers expected and the heavy rain will stay over southern England.

Sunday’s weather forecast:

Luckily, the heavy rain in the south will start to edge away as we move into Sunday morning, and things will start to brighten up with pleasant sunshine across the UK by around 9am. So, if you’re planning to go out riding this weekend, Sunday is your best bet. The sun is expected to last all day with the odd possible short shower here and there. Sunday evening and night should also stay dry and clear.

Well, I’m not sure what the MET Office have been doing this morning, but they haven’t uploaded their usual weekend forecast video. So, here’s a funny video of ducklings being blown over in the wind instead. Enjoy.
