Pedersen’s set out on his journey across five continents in 1981 aboard a BMW R 80 GS. Over the following 10 years he rode over 250,000 miles through 77 countries and became the first motorcyclist to record a crossing of the infamous Darien Gap – 80 miles of virtually impenetrable jungle between Columbia and Panama.

These days Pedersen spends his time running his company GlobeRiders an adventure motorcycling touring company based in Seattle which specialises in small group, long duration motorcycle adventures.
