Would this be the perfect adventure bike?
Written by Rob Slade

Okay so we’re going for the big time here and we’re going to make an attempt to create the perfect adventure bike (unfortunately just as a concept). As much as one man may love his BMW GS and another will swear by their Honda Africa Twin, there always seems to be those little things that annoy you more and more.

In fact, you only need to take a look at the reaction to the new Honda Africa Twin to realise just how disgruntled people are starting to become. The groans could be heard across the country as people saw a wet weight of 228kg on the standard model. Likewise, it was clear that some people are starting to become frustrated with how horsepower seems to be becoming more important than range.

Hearing all of these grumblings got us thinking, what would we want in our perfect adventure bike? Well that’s the question we are setting out to answer.

Video of the week: Duo perform death-defying moped stunts
Written by Rob Slade

Our latest installment of video of the week is slightly left-field compared to some of the other videos we've been sharing but after seeing it (and our jaws dropping to the floor) we decided you needed this in your lives too.

The video shows two friends (presumably in Asia somewhere) who perform a number of outragious stunts as they race along on their moped. What makes it even more ridiculous is that they aren't wearing any helmets but are performing barefoot and in flip flops! In our opinion, the stunts get really impressive at 1:38. So what do you think, would you be mad enough to try something like this?

The ABR guide to the highest passes in Scotland
Written by Alun Davies

Motorcyclists have always been drawn to mountain passes. There’s something about the stunning scenery, the challenging twists and turns and the remoteness of them that attracts us. They always seem to make things that bit more exciting than your standard low-lying roads thanks to the natural obstacles that stand in the way.

With that in mind, ABR teamed up with TomTom in the latest edition of the magazine (issue 29 Jul/Aug) in an effort to reveal the three highest passes in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The result was that we had inadvertently created perhaps the ultimate British road trip. It didn’t really feel right keeping it to ourselves, so we thought we’d give you a glimpse of that with the Scottish section. Without further delay, here are the highest (and most rewarding in our opinion) passes in Scotland.

9 photos that show adventure motorcycling is the best kind of biking there is
Written by Rob Slade

Over the past decade, adventure bikes have grown considerably more popular and now represent a large chunk of the motorcycle market. That's not to say that other sectors of the market have started to die down though. The motorcycle market is still one that is hotly contested between manufacturers and fans of certain sectors. Of course, we think adventure biking is the best kind of riding there is and here are nine photos to prove it.

7 of the most dangerous roads in the world
Written by Rob Slade

We've covered amazing alpine passes, spectacular coastal roads and the most isolated roads in the world, but for some reason we just didn't feel complete. There was something missing... And that was a list of the most dangerous roads in the world. But there's no need to worry! We've got that covered. We are afterall an adventure bike publication so it would be silly not to have a list like this.

So what's in store? Well, these roads are certainly not for the faint-hearted. The list includes roads that take you through Taliban territory, across thousand-mile stretches of inhospitable isolation and includes roads that are falling apart and don't even deserve the accolade of being called a road.

They hail from all corners of the Earth including Europe, Australia and South America and if there's one thing for sure, you'll need a strong sense of adventure and balls of steel to take these on. But, being who we are, we like to encourage a challenge, so without further ado, here are seven of the most dangerous roads in the world.

Could the new Autocom GPS Tracker answer your security worries?
Written by Rob Slade

If there’s one thing that proves to worry most motorcyclists, it’s bike security. Unfavourable motorbike theft rates have made it even more imperative to keep your bike in a safe place or behind locked doors.

That worry can often manifest itself even more when on the road or more specifically, off the beaten track. A common topic we see on the forum is how to keep your motorbike secure while camping. Well, maybe a GPS tracker is the right way to go for peace of mind.

In answer to those concerns, Autocom has recently launched their new GPS Bike Tracker. The device acts as a security system that uses GPS location and SMS communication. Here's everything you need to know.

The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer has announced a series of new colour schemes for its 2016 models including the mid-range Kawasaki Versys 650.

While any form of mechanical upgrade is yet to be revealed, the popular middle-weight tourer will at least see the introduction of some new and impressive aesthetics.
