This motorcycle route in northern England offers some of Britain's best riding
Written by Bryn Davies

Over the past year we've been circumnavigating England and Wales in an effort to create a series of weekend rides offering you some great riding that you can tick off in a short amount of time. As it happens, we may have actually just created the ultimate road trip.

Anyway, the next instalment sees us ride a stunning route along England's border with Scotland, and Bryn Davies believes it may just offer some of the best riding in Britain...

On the ABR forum: What is high mileage?
Written by Rob Slade

Last week on the ABR forum conversation focused paritularly on bikes and gear, with the usual current affairs posts seemingly staying clear.

Members were posing a range of questions about things such as lightweight camping chairs, reliability issues in bikes and what actually constitutes high mileage. Can you help anyone out?

Watch: Taking on the best roads the Alps has to offer
Written by Rob Slade

Summer is drawing to a close and the riding season in the Alps is soon to come to an end. But there's still some precious weeks left to make the most of it, as this stunning video suggests.

Filmed in October last year, the footage follows a rider as he takes on the region's fantastic roads in a range of conditions. One minute it's bright blue skies, and the next it's thick cloud with zero visability. But still, how about those views...

Is this the most exciting pass in the Alps?
Written by Bryn Davies

If you're making your way over to the Alps at all then you'll no doubt have your personal bucket list of high mountain passes that you'll be aiming to ride. Most will include the biking Mecca that is the Stelvio Pass, then there's the impressive Furka Pass, the Col de l'Iseran, or the highest paved pass in the Alps, the Cime de la Bonette.

But if it's dramatic scenery, exciting riding and roads that showcase the very best of Italian engineering, then the Splügen Pass is a must.

The reason you're told to get off your bike when filling up
Written by Bryn Davies

Do you sit on your bike when you fill up at the petrol station? Lots of people do, so it's OK to admit it. In fact, I've done it more times than I care to remember. I'm pretty lazy and it just seems like less hassle to rock up, reach over, grab the nozzle and start pumping (despite the fact that I'm going to be walking into the petrol station after I've filled up in order to grab some pork scratchings and pay).

5 reasons to ride the Peakland Way
Written by Bryn Davies

In each issue of Adventure Bike Rider magazine we set out to ride one of the UK's long distance footpaths by motorcycle. Of course, we can't literally ride on the paths (with the exception of the first half of the Ridgeway), so we plot our route to follow as closely to the original trail as possible.

In issue 35 of Adventure Bike Rider we took a journey along the 120-mile long Peakland Way, a fantastic ride that takes you on a tour of the beautiful Peak District, circumnavigating the national park and taking in all of the best roads and attractions that it has to offer.

Not so long ago, adventure motorcyclist Daniel Greening rode 23,000 miles from Sydney to London on his BMW F650GS Dakar. Along the way, he filmed the incredible roads he encountered, the unique interactions he experienced and and stunning scenery he passed through.

He has released clips to YouTube, but now he's planning to turn his footage into a feature-length documentary and he needs your help. Here's what you need to know.

Meet Ola, one of the world's pioneering female adventure motorcyclists
Written by Egle Gerulaityte

Alexandra ‘Ola’ Trzaskowska, 36, is probably one of the toughest women bikers I’ve ever met: she rides in the most extreme corners of the world, knows Central Asia like it’s her back garden, and leads women-only motorcycle tours in the Himalayas. She’s ridden in Afghanistan, Bolivia, and India; she’s constantly looking for new challenges and setting out on adventures all over the globe.

We caught up with Ola to discuss her thoughts on adventure motorcycling, why you should visit the lesser travelled countries before you head to Europe or the US, and why size doesn't matter.
