Just a little reminder - There's an adventure day taking place at the Ace Cafe (London) on Sunday 19th Feb 2012. A group from the Midlands rode down last year and it was a great day out. So, if you're thinking of riding down and want some company I'll be setting off from the Warwick Services on the M40 at 8am. Check on the forum, I'll be starting a thread soon.

If you fancy a weekend camping and riding in the sunny Midlands during August read on.
With the South Coast ABR Rally in July, the Highland ABR Rally in September and the Bulldog Bash hitting Stratford on 11th - 14th Aug the weekend of the 19th-21st is the best available date for an ABR Rally in the Midlands. I'm checking out a few campsites over the next few days and will post up details but I'm expecting the pitch prices to be around £12 per night. The sites I'm looking at are Stratford Race Course which has toilets, showers etc and is within walking distance of the town centre so you'll have the choice of plenty of pubs and half the restaurants operating in the western world. The second site is at Long Marston Airfield (location of the Bulldog Bash) where we may also be able to have use of the drag strip - I'll need to check the facilities/costs first. The 3rd site is on a farm about 8 miles out of Stratford that has off road riding facilities, a fantastic rural location but dubious washing/lavatory arrangements – I'll check it out but think it'll be more like a wild camp than a Takota experience. There will be three types of ride outs available on the Saturday. 1 Enduro and mud plugging on a nearby farm. 2 Tour of the Green lanes of the Cotswolds 3 Road tour of the Cotswolds - with a cream tea and scones. And we could also have a mass ride out to the ABR offices for a piccie. If you're interested post on this thread in the forum http://www.adventurebikerider.com/forum/67-abr-midlands-simmer-rally-19th-21st-aug/33836-abr-midlands-rally-19th-21st-aug.html and if you'd like to volunteer to lead a ride out do likewise.

Okay, who's up for a brekkie and ride out next Sunday 1st May? Eggs and bakey at Glebe Farm followed by a ride down through the Cotswolds and a loop up to Oxfordish. We could check out the Compton Scorpion green lane - easy going and easy to avoid if you don't fancy it.

Hi Coddy
Apologies for missing your wall post and welcome to ABR. Head on over to the forum and say hi, that's where the vast majority of members will pick up on any post. It's also where we'll be posting up details of any ride outs. Regards Alun

I've opened this up on the East Anglia group pages, and it's an open invite to anyone.
As per the header, I'm thinking of a pre boil kit shake down I.E. ride and camp, around 05 -06 March. Got to test the new tent as I've only erected it once to make sure everything was present and correct. I'm thinking of Burnham Deepdale Norfolk, www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/camping (those who know it it has the hostel at the front) as it has good facilities, showers and WC etc. Then a ride out through deepest darkest Norfolk or whatever you fancy, possibly taking in the Broads Nature rally site at some stage. The trails will probably be as they were the last time... Peddars Way, so probably more road orientated is best, unless someone can come up with a fire road or two that has remained dryish with Tourance levels of grip?? So there you have it, answers on a post card......
