Excellent book he takes you on a roller coaster of an emotional journey you find yourself willing him on to go deeper into the wilds and of course does he get the girl ?

I've got this stored up ready for the Christmas holidays, looking forward to it, and I'll post something when I'm done.

One of my favorite books since I read it a few years ago. Recently re-read it and found it even better. He is very determined and honest in his writing and it has a message of hope for anyone.

I read this book shortly after it came out, bless Swindon Library. I wax so enthralled & captivated by it, I didn't go to work for two days until I had finished it (slow reader) afterwards I couldn't help tell people about it & lent it to a friend on my library ticket. I was hard up at the time & they went out & bought me the hardback copy for me to keep.
Swindon library kindly got Jonnys second book in for me to read when that was published too. A good read & it enlightened you on a few things that happened in the first book. For me personally I didn't enjoy it as much , primarily because of the first book was a bike related adventure.
I think this book is a must for any budding adventurer, as well as anyone who has hit a particularly low point as he had. This book gives you the inspiration to get up & get on with life again taking what knocks come along on the way.
Don't ask what it's about, get a copy & read it.

I read this book not long after it was published and was very impressed with Jonny's determination. It helped inspire me to travel which I have done quite extensively since, but this journey I would call real adventure travel.

I’ve had the book since its first edition in 1995, in Hardback, and it’s been a while since I’ve last read it, but what a read. While a traveller at heart already, it was the very sad loss of his fiancée. Just reading the Prologue is hard enough…

He was going with a friend but, I think, (it’s been fifteen years) he had to pull out which left Jonny to do the trip himself. Yeah, not just a story of Adventure but an insight into the life, spirit, heart and mind of someone who, for a moment, was lost. An Adventure of the soul.

A must read.

Thanks Lolo, I'll put it on the list. Quite a few RTW type motorcycle books all start with a significant loss of some kind.
