I think I enjoyed on the loose a little bit more, but only a bit. Both are a very good read.

On the Loose for me. White knuckles has parts where I think why ? why would you do that? But then she is my hero because I would never be that brave or adventurous. :-)

Right, I've now got hold of both of lois's books. I'll be back after I've read them. is there any agreement here on which book is best?

I rode a Serow for a year and a half, only 22 miles a day but that's as far as I want to go on one. I don't know how Lois did it.

She is most definitely a hero. She had a few scary moments in Africa, not sure I would have coped anywhere near as well as she did.

I found Red tape quite gripping in places. I thinks its on the edge of adventurous and little mad (sorry Lois). I was reaally inspired, so much I went and bought a serrow which is in the process of being done up. It will be our winter bike as the GS's are too heavy (scary!) once the snow sets in.

I just have to add my two-penneth-worth (not sure if that's a real saying or not!) and agree.
As a recent convert to motorbikes I read 'Lois On The Loose' and loved it. I was already inspired and hooked on bikes. Lois took my desire to go on a long, major biking adventure to a new and more urgent level! I'm now reading 'Red Tape and White Knuckles'.
