first ride out on my new to me CRF250 Rally ... FAB ... much better than my previous 2015 crf250L.

I won't be taking it out again in such sludge .. until i have got some MT 21's (or similar) boots on .... that rear oem IRC worn slick on the back ... swerves in mud at the slightest thing. But generally a much better bike than my L .. more planted, better suspension, more confidence. nice ride on the road, deceptively fast at start off, steady at slow road speed but capable of more (if a bit vibey then.) Great (slow) off road, despite my fears for the fairing and plastics. ... yeah ... very nice

Re: cfr250 Rally
That's what i realised half way through, Richard ... decent tyres woukd have helped a lot, but it was far too squelshy and slippery for a first ride lol .... mind i was overtaken twice by the same snail .. little bazzard was laffin too
I walked the bike over that mass of mud shite in the last pic .... chriest it was ridiculous ... and that was the actual Trail. !! but i had to get the bike back to the road, which was only a couple of hundred yards away' and i rode the rest (very carefully).
(ps ..I think i will be getting some trouble with the clutch ... slipper clutch like the `L`.)

Re: crf250 Rally
Looks very nice indeed. There was a lot of interesting discussion on the CRF300 Rally post and in other places on here too. You probably can’t really go wrong with either the 250, or the 350 Rally by the sound of it. One day, don’t know which one mind you, I’ll make my mind up what to go for, but in the meantime all the owner stuff on here makes interesting reading.

Cheers Scott
Gaz .. the reviews I have read so far have all been accurate. If I could have afforded it, I would have got the 300 Rally, as it is supposed to be better on tarmac roads, but, having said that, the 250 Rally is OK, if you don't expect high speed performance.

Re: crf250 Rally
Minky ....... on your Rally, did you do the stronger clutch spring and plates replacement? (I had to do it on my 2015 250 L.) and did you add cogs to the rear sprocket?
I know you wrote loads on it with detailed pictures but I can't remember if it was the 250 Rally?

Re: crf250 Rally
pleanty of lads are using the o/e clutch gary ..daves is fine i wouldnt worry but the 1313 kits are a straight replacement bit more direct without the judder assembly but id just ride it as is for now its done nowt really ....tbo unless uour planning somthing really horrible and steep id stay with the 14/40 better on the road and ist gear steady will pretty much climb anything ordinary trails will ask of it i think .the gap to 2nd can be annoying but i find its best to live with it rather than try and close it ......sort yer tyres out get a shakedown day sorted and see how you feel id say ... id say the single biggest fault with the bike is the rear shock .it just has zero rebound control ..other than that they ride well i think
whats the wether forcast ..wheres me map
