So is anyone planning any weekend camping over the next weekend as the new forest simmer rally is closed. I fancy a weekend away on the bike rain or not.

Book a cheap ticket on the tunnel and go to Chimay (Belgium, Ardennes) for the classic races. It's really close racing on a closed roads circuit with the added attraction of seriously high powered beer.

We go every year and get there to camp on the Friday lunchtime packing up either Sunday or Monday depending on other commitments. The town itself is great fun with loads of decent bars and restaurants within 15 minutes walk of the circuit campsite.

Me and GF where thinking of going to this site for a long weekend
Campsite Le Perroquet
59123 Bray-Dunes Ghyvelde France
We stayed there in 2010 for bastill weekend it was a really nice
Site and being 20000 acers there is a fair bit of space there are
People who live there all year around the main gates are 100 yds
From the belgum border.
We saw a french police car cross get fuel from the belgum
Pumps and drive back past tge fren h pumps!

Thinking of using that as a base to do some short rides in to belgum.

i was in the Welshppol area on Fri/Sat/sun and it was mighty wet! the grass is so soggy under foot, and it was like that every where i went

Theres quite a few roads shut too and the ones that are open have moooooosive puddles, always seem to be on blind corners too!! (luckily i was in the car as i hit some at speed)

yeah i know what you mean, but if i were you id forget about camping round here unless you can find a site half way up a mountain (not many of them round here either! ). still some roads shut too.
you used to be able to rock up at folkstone at 2am and jump on the chunnel for £15, do they still do that? head south a bit and fill up on cheese and wine.

the good news is......... maybe....... the telly has just said this jetstream thingy is moving where it should be and this may be the last crap weeks weather. i'll believe it when i see it though. summer was that hot couple of weeks we had in march.

The campsite @ Ivinghoe that was used for the Chilterns rally is open & the entrances & ground is good. I live near & could go see the owner if anybody was interested.
A road ride could be arranged @ short notice.
We could use the same off road route if we had lead volunteers.

I would definitely be interested, if you could find out. Thank you. My mate would come so that's at least 2.
No off road ride for me though.

Maybe Monsieur Freeloadeur would like to get some more gravel rash instead of watching The Long Way round London without entering a ZIL lane.

Apparently the weather forecast is quite good for the weekend.

I've spoken to the owner,
He's very busy because the ground is good.On chalk so good drainage.
We can have the lower part of the big field we had in March (Chilterns rally).
Pitch the tent the right way & you don't need a pillow.
He would open the bottom gate for easy access.
It is near the road but it is out in the countryside.
He has fire wood which we can buy or bring our own.
The site is new & being improved. It has toilets & showers.
The rest is up to you lot to organise yourselves into a group so numbers could be sorted with him.
I would be there & probably go for, or MAYBE lead a roadrun.
The offroad might be dificult at short notice.

Excuse me, no gravel rash on me thank you - they were more like pebbles I've got the track of the "I've never done this before" trail ride. Don't fancy the fords though, I bet they're a bit deeper than when we went through in March.

Zil lanes are fine I worked out there's just enough room to get my bike alongside a car and not be in the one on the A40. Try that on a 1200GS.
