Crosstourer all packed and ready to go,,, pity I'm not! 10 months, 3 weeks ago #146765

Hi all, just thought you would like to see the Thug all kitted out and ready to tour! I was all ready to head for the Stella but due to my health issue I've decided to take the Land rover instead so a couple of pics then strip all the luggage back off!
Luggage racks, topbox, touring screen and crashbars are Givi, boxes are Alpos, sat nav by Tomtom mounted on RAM mount and the phone is by Nokia.
A fine looking steed!

Sorry, issue with pics!

What a shame- it takes a bit of time to get it all loaded! Still, have a great time time in the L/R.
Just a thought, instead of using elastic bungies to tie down your bags, have you looked at Rokstraps? They are brill- much safer to use and hold kit down better than bungies.

Cozmo, the rodent's a long story!

One yr climbing the Stelvio pass on my first trip to the Alps, my old Varadero was suffering a bit from altitude sickness, (struggled to take throttle) I had to pull over at one point where I came face to face with a marmot! I'd never seen one before and standing on its hind legs and snarling at me with those teeth like a beaver! I thought it was pretty scary! If I see a marmot I always shout to Fiona, "look, look, a marmot!"
So, Fiona bought me a stuffed one at the gift shop on the Col De L'Iseran a couple of yrs ago and it's been in my screen of my bike since!! (It's not a real marmot! LOL!)
Hope that gives you a chuckle!

Jim,

I know your on route right now, and probably enjoying some of the local fire water, wherever you've stopped for the night, so you'll see this post eventually.

Gutted to hear of your problem! Guy down at the Welsh rally mentioned you were unable to ride south.

As has been said already, there is always another year to try and jam some Stella gravel under the belly pan of the new bike

Take care and have fun - you ain't in work so it must be a holiday, right?

How's about a run to Skye and a trip to Raasay - Calums road?

Lowflyer has set up a run for next weekend (Saturday).

See you both on your return.

Stay safe,
