Adventure Bike Rider

I've currently got an R1200GS but am now looking for an 800GS. theres nothing wrong with the 1200, the limiting factor is Me. Got knocked off by some dick van driver doing a Uturn across 4 lanes of dual carriageway, and as a result its a pain moving the bike around,so am looking for an 800 which is lighter, not by much admittedly, but enough to make a difference. I can ride the bike fine,its just moving it around thats causing me problems. So, in simple terms, does anyone have an F800GS but actually want an R1200 GS. I will post more details if anyone expresses any interest. I have also had my redundancy notice come smashing through my letter box a short while ago, so looks like im gonna be forced to say goodbye to my bike soon anyway. there is the possibility of some form of redundancy payout but no idea on how much yet.Anyone interested?

Ah yes that might help. the bike is an 04 with 38000 miles on it. it has previous service history long tax and mot, and has just had new front discs, new pads and new heated grip put on it after the left one died. Its also got a brand new rear tyre on it, as well as ABS and an alarm. ALso included are the Bmw vario panniers 2 complete sets of keys plus alarm keyfobs as well as the spare plastic thing. i think it also has a lowered seat on too. Condition wise i would say its probably an 8 out of ten. the panniers are its worst feature as they have some slight dents in, but then again they are replaceable if you wish. Im on 07851563928 if there is any interest.i can also provide some pictures if anyone wants them, but as Im at work at the moment i will have to wait till i get home to send you some.

i went from a 1200 to an 800 ,what a great bike it is (ive had 8 gsers 1150 x3 1200,1200gsa airheads x3),and for me the 800 is the best of both worlds ,quickenough ansd returns 65 plus a gallon.
hope it goes through for you ,you wont regret it ....ps dont believe all the horros of the breakdown storys ,everybody bandies around .never had a problem with mine .

Well it looks (much to my disappointment) that theres no interest. Ah well such is life.

I owned this bike 12 years ago , sold it to a mate who used it everyday for about 10 years on a short commute to work then stuck it in the corner of his garage , he let it sit in ten years of dirt ,bought it back and rebuilt it ,one of the first overland bikes ,it has 55000 miles and runs like a watch .if you can get a DR800 buy one ,will sit a 80mph all day and a tank range of over 300 miles .heres a few pics of how i got it .sorry for hijacking your thread
