does exactly what it says on the tin ...

I used Goop and it was marked on the bottle what to use. 500ml does two tyres and I put more in the back tyre as it is larger.

It comes with a valve remover in the lid which unscrews the valve which lets all the air out. Then screw the valve back in using the same tool and pump up the tyres. It took 5 minutes to do.

Hi Bond_yzf

I use this all the time in my MTBs but have only used it once in any of my motorbikes

Firstly you need to carry a spare tube or tubes anyway as a safety measure

I had a puncture on the way to the Bulldogbash with my lad on the back and all our camping gear for the weekend - I felt a squirm at the back and just thought it was the road surface - doing 80ish at the time on the M6

It did it's job as I travelled a further 80 miles at that pace and got to the campsite

When I got up the morning after the bike looked very low down at the back and I then noticed the flat. We could not repair it and all of the goo had been escaping and sprayed all over the undertray, mudguard, swingarm etc. I had picked up a square nail and once the tyre had cooled down all the air came out overnight. It saved me from a quicker deflation and got me to where we were going - it was raining and going dark too - thankful that it did what it says on the tin

Had to get another tube and put this in

Spoke to different tyre fitters and they do not rate the stuff. Never used it since on the motorbikes

I prefer to put a spare tube in and repair the punctured one as back up

Hope this helps

I've got some. I intend to just carry it and put it in if I get a puncture and Re inflate it then as it will not make Tyre fitter happy.

Does it block the valve if you let out air. think also it balances the tyre as you ride.

Follow the instructions.
Too little is ineffective, too much will cause imbalance.
It can be very effective, but almost impossible to repair a tube once covered in the gloop.
A spare tube is essential in case.
As others say, we tyre fitters don't like it if not informed its in there.

When ever I am doing the tyre pressures on the MTBs I stand the wheels for at least 20 mins with the valve up at the top so it all drops to the bottom, some slime is still there but not enough to block the valve or screw up the pump / electric pump etc

TT, have you any advice about its use at speed? ie is there a speed you wouldn't exceed with it in on a heavy bike?

If it's clearly marked for high speed use it should'nt cause any problems.
Tractor stuff is for tractors not bikes.
Most important is follow instructions for use, not too much or too little.

If I was touring with tube type tyres I would'nt use it, carry spare tubes instead.
Just my opinion.

Presumably you wouldn't use it because you can changes tubes quickly? Or some other reason?

Which brand is the best to use? I recently purchased a tube of slime to put into my tubes, but when reading the instructions it said that the maximum speed limit once inserted is 65mph.

Ain´t that the truth! I faffed around for almost 2 hours on a front wheel flat before giving up and swapping out the tube. It might wash off easily enough - but you don´t always have access to sufficient water to do that. In fairness it was a pretty big hole in the tube. Still running the rear with it in - on its second tyre too - seems to be holding up well.
