If it is a replacement BMW OEM battery - take it back - it has a 3 year warranty. Which is why even mekaninknicks who work on beemeers never fit Odysseys... as they only have a two year warranty

I don't think so in this case, it's been on charge for a fair few hours now and still not fully charged. It used to only take about 30 mins.

If the battery was kippered just the red light would be flashing.
I once tried to bring a "very dead" battery back to life and the optimate just wouldn't recognise it was connected to anything.
You have to remember a GS battery is only just up to the job, so make sure everything is tight & keep it optimated.
Leave any GS stood for a month & it will struggle to start .... immobiliser, can-bus, who knows?
It's just one of those "quirks" engineered in by those clever German peeps!

That's a good point, I never knew they had a 3year warranty, but I've never had to replace an odysessy either
