Motion Induced Blindness (strange test!!!)

Taken from another forum. It works exactly like it says, and is one major reason people in cars can look right at you (when you're on a motorcycle or bicycle) --- AND NOT SEE YOU.

apparently this was taught to piolets in the 50's about scanning outside the cockpit through training. They were told to scan the horizon for a short distance, stop momentarily, and repeat the process. It was emphasized (repeatedly) to NOT fix your gaze for more than a couple of seconds on any single object. The instructions are to continually "keep eyes moving and our head on a swivel" because this was the best way to survive, not only in combat, but from peacetime hazards (like a mid-air collision) as well.

Interesting.

To take them home to the ones that they love and who love them forever......."

On my first ride this year, I headed off to the new Touratech shop in Chester yesterday (Same place a s Harley Junc 10 M53) to see what the fuss was about.
7 Miles in as I approached the M6-A556 r/bout some old geezer in a Toyota Pick up just pulled right across 3 lanes (from a side road) without even seeing me, or the car in lane 1 . Now I am 19 stone, so quite wide, my GS spots and head light on, White helmet, red and silver jacket....... what the f%4£ did he mean when he held his hand up to say "Oh sorry, didn't see you coming" ???

If I had read this post before it happened, I could have suggested the method rather than questioning his parenthood, his obvious need for a visit to the opticians, and the similarity to a ladies lower body parts he reminded me of . Hey Ho....
