Hi simon If i read their PM correctly you are to rdv with them on saturday and me on Sunday Am they stop overnight near Olot on saturday and then bagnieres on sunday Once I get an eta for the border I will probably meet up with them there and bring them to my place for a quick bevvie so they can ride on from here. It looks like the weather will get a degree or so cooler over the w/e which will be welcome as it is so humid at the moment just sitting at the poota and I am leaking hopefully we may get a storm tonight, we need one .

Wotcha Nigel,
If you wanted to ride near Sort on the Saturday as you said, my camp site is just ten minutes away. Why not ride over the Coll d'Ares to Ripoll, then on to Berga and thence to Sant Lorenç de Moruyns, Coll de Nargo, the amazing Coll de Boixols, then on to Tremp and catch them up from behind as you approach la Pobla from the south.
After a quick cuppa we can all ride over the Port de Canto and depending on the time go our seperate ways from La Seu d'Urgell.
Comimg back to your route, above, I don't mean to knock the N260, but once you've ridden these roads you'll never looks back!
Cheers
Simon

Hi simon,
I know the roads to which you refer I have done them a few times, the n260 thing really started as a magazine article which was reprinted in several countries, it is an easy route to follow for the less mentally challenged andd as a single named road it is very difficult to beat when one takes in its length etc. I know there are better roads in many countries as well as those that we know in your region.
As much as i would like to ride those roads with you on saturday it would leave me with a good long ride home in the evening so will have to do it another day when i can stay the night over there. We are in the throes of a house move and just await the confirmation of the loan to our buyer which may arrive today, if so it will be all hands to the packing boxes. We are not moving far just to Caudies in the next valley, near the gorges of st george. I will arrange to meet up with the guys on sunday morning and ride with them a bit, they have given themselves a lot to do if they intend to get to their destination sunday night!
However I do look forward to one day meeting up with you.

Hi Mate,
Sorry you can't make it on Saturday - definitley meet up sometime though, but like the rest of us, commitments happen - but it seems you spend all your time selling properties; if I recall that was what was happening when I passed your way on the first day of my tour at the beginning if July!
You're right - roads and routes in all countries are great! I had an amazing ride along the French side of the Pyrenees after seeing Barcelona Pat off at St. Girons on his way to the ABR Midlands bash last week.
I had the bright idea to ride the length of the Tour de France passes, doing about five big ones and seravl smaller ones (only have the >French bit of the Michelin 1:100 000 Spain/Portugal map - the climax, literally, was the Coll de Aubisque (D918) was surreal in the immediate aftermath of a thunderstorm - shame the pass itself was so immensely crowded with day trippers it was literally impossible to stop and photograph! Earlier in the day the Coll de Portet de Aspet was rather more tranquil but no less surreal as I met a couple of cyclists who were touring with their dog in its own kennel!
Back to Dean, Lovell and the lads, I guess they're on the dockside as I write this - eat your hearts out boys it's 36º in the shade right now, bit it won't be by Saturday - a good thing too as they reaally do have a long ride panned from Pau to La Garrotxa!
Cheers
Simon

house selling was a bitch as so many brits expect to be shown houses on the w/e and no other estate agents work the w/e here. But this time it is our house . I am writing a story now about doing all the colls on an MV with a group of mates all on mv's. My m8 in le perthus has 18 of them !and we did all thew top colls in 3 days earlier this year. we are hoping to do them next year on pre war bikes. If ever you are coming this way there is always a bed or a drink just give us a call.
I do wish Dean and co had taken my advice drop down in 1 hit then do day trips or even 2 day trips from one center by the time they get back to the uk they will need a holiday

mv motorcycles probably one of, if not, the most famous racing names, Agostini won most of his championships on one, Read also, and john surtees, they are great bikes , if a bit heavy but are shaft drive.

Nigel and Simon.
I am meeting a friend (1200GSA) in Buis les Baronnies in Provence and we will leave there on the 30th Sept. one night en-route to the Spanish border so we will be arriving near you on the 1st Oct. What state will you be in, house-wise, on that date Nigel?
We have over a week to explore the Pyrenees more fully before heading west. I will stay with my daughter in Asturias for a few days before we take the ferry home together from Santander on Mon 17th Oct.
Where will you be based in that first week or so of October Simon? I would like to discuss with you your mustn't-miss routes please.
Ted.

Thanks Spud.
It is my turn for good weather. I haven't had a dry trip since Morocco in October 09.
