Right for Xmas last year I got the GF Lois Price first book.
as She reads a lot am looking for a few as stocking fillers im going to get the GF the 2nd book as well. I noticed a wrighter called Geoff Hill, anyone red his books are they any good, with a bit of fun in them too?
I found simon Gandolf in a sally army shop 50p comments on him too please, this one will just be a here got this,
I red a repot on Ted simon 2nd book juniper travel something or other & it said it was just a old bloke on a bike moaning about back in the good old days, when things where far better.
comments welcome, btw she has all the sam manicome books

Geoff Hill's 'The Road to Gobblers Knob' and 'way to Go' are quite good reads.
if you want to give her a women's take on bikes you won't go far wrong with either Polly Evan's 'Kiwis might fly: Around NZ on Two Wheels, or 'The Perfect Vehicle' by Melissa Holbrook Pierson, although this is revolves mainly around her obsession with Guzzis.
My all time favourite however is Mike Carter's 'Uneasy Rider:Travels Through A Mid-life Crisis', which goes a long way to explaining in a hilarious way why we blokes are an odd species when we get to a certain age-in this case 42! It will certainly open her eyes into what makes blokes tick.
Happy reading!

+1 on the above.
Also, as much as I wanted to love Ted Simons second book I gave up reading it about half way through I found it that depressing. I feel bad saying that as it was his first book which got me into the whole travel thing so I feel I owe him in some way

the first ted simon book is better as he is less travelled and more open to new experience but the 2nd is still worth a read but if you want a riveting fun abr type read go with nathan milwward's the long ride home ... but there will be a price while she's reading it... you will be ignored as you cant put the book down there's plenty of links on here to go to his website to get the book

hope this helps j

+1 for what he said.
I've just finished reading Ted Simon's follow up and made it to the end, it was interesting, but was a bit moaning about change. I found it a reasonable read as I'd read Ted's first book just after it came out - about 100 years ago and I'm sort of in the same boat, going over old ground. Not sure it would be a good read first time around.
Nathan's book I'm reading on Kindle at the moment, really well written, very personal and witty, good fun to read

yesteday I wote up a few book reviews, but as this site managed to loose it again i'll keep this brief
best travel/motorcycle adventure book ive read is jonny bealby running with the moon just fantastic its a real adventure taking risks and going way into the unknown also it has quite a back story.
yup Ted Simon is the daddy imho jupiters travells is where its at.
ive read many books and watch loads of motorcycle films but i believe its as much to do if you can connect with the author, do you want them to do well. For me its all about the underdog someone who may not have a fully loaded GS more likely an xt or dr.

I can relate to that. As much as I tried to, I couldn't connect with E&C's LWR and LWD for that very reason
