ill go with treadtrader on this one
poor mirror awarness by the driver coupled with the bike being right in the blindspot at the point of moving ..we will never know but id wager he glanced in the mirror before moving
im going to stick me neck out a little here from a profesional point of view .. dia advanced trainer /examiner [whoo]
i know this is all very good in hindsight but this is how i would see it following a trainee in that road
id be looking for defensive riding
defined as what i can see ..what i cant see ..what i may reasonbly expect to happen
what i can see early is the junction with the yellow van and the parked car beyond
what i cant see [ no glass] is the diver of the transit
wheather the parked car has a driver [will it move ..will the door open ]
what may i reasonably expect to happen ?
is there anything there that may cause the white van to alter position or speed ??
again from a defensive point of view .. i think the timing of the pass was poorly timed .. based on what i could see couldnt see and reasonbly expect to happen ..they should never meet traffic travelling in the same direction at a juction
im being honest here .. i wouildnt have allowed a tranee into that space at that time
hold a gap on a steady throttle and move through after the juction
as i say its not your fault at all but the combination of the factors discussed and the blind spot of the van conpired against you
sorry to sound so posh and that but im trying to put a slant on it based on roadcraft ..
hes a dozy fekker isnt in there im afraid
