0800Hrs start, 0300Hrs and 650 miles later my very enjoyable ride ends. Weather forecast good for the weekend so decided to make the most of it before the rain returns, A701 to Moffat to join the M74 to Glasgow, A82 loch lomond, Crianlarich, Tyndrum, up over Ranoch moor to Glencoe and onward to Fort William, from there continue upto Invergarry then the A87 to Dornie and the Eilean Donan Castle, Skye bridge and Portree for lunch.
From portree a blast back to Kyle of lochalsh then onto Applecross, where one frenchman decided to crash his car in front of me, no injuries just puzzled looks as to how the hell did that happen. One highlight of the trip was watching a team from Ktm on a photo shoot half way into the applecross pass, looked very professional, not sure what the bike was but loaded with luggage.
So after a great days biking and ticking a couple of boxes it was time to head home, just a reverse of my outward journey. But never again will I travel in the dark, Ranoch moor, Glencoe are beautiful places in the glorious sunshine, but pitch blackness and black mountains looming down on you, plus the amount of deer by the road side make it a very scary and nervous place to ride, well for me anyway. So on the whole it was a superb day and the bests nights sleep i've had for a while.
