ok so i managed to pick up a set of metal mule pannier racks from an africa twin for the great price of £20

so today i decided to head to the workshop and hack and slash them to be grafted onto the xt660z

i decided to use the oem yam pannier rails as the exsisting mount so after cutting out the centre rail i was left with this

after cutting everything off the hoops they were offered up and tacked in place

exhaust side done,i was s******g myself on this side having a cutting disc so close to that carbon can was not nice,in hindsight i should have taken the bloody thing off

taken off,fully welded and cleaned up ready for some paint pretty pleased with the way they turned out,all i need now is to finish the panniers and get em mounted all in all a bloody good day

to be honest mate general fabrication stuff like this isnt that hard,anyone can be shown the basics of mig welding in an hour

we use a local powder coater but to be honest im gunna 2-pack em keeping cost down etc im trying to see how cheaply i can actually build a rack and panniers for
