I bought for over £2.000,- in the German TouraTech shop (came there physicaly to collect my order) because I thought the prices of the Scandinavian TouraTech shop (Situated in Sweden) was way up higher than the German TouraTech Shop.
I was then explained, after buying in the German shop, that prices of the Scandinavian TouraTech Shop is only higher until you register/make an account and log in.
From then on the prices were the same in the Scandinavian TouraTech shop as they are in the German TouraTech shop.
Maybe it is the same practice in TouraTech UK?

Unfortunately not. They are simply a lot higher in the UK.

I buy Touratech stuff... but only what cannot be bought elsewhere, as mentioned, their satnav holders are second to none.
.... but the price of stuff like tents/camping equipment, tools etc. which are available from other outlets.. is quite simply profiteering.
They should have their collar felt by trading standards... but probably won't.
So.. vote with your wallets seems to be the answer.

Why should they have their collar felt by trading standards???
If you can buy something cheaper elsewhere buy it at the cheaper place. It called shopping around!
TT sell at a price that is suitable to them and the costs for the UK store, they have invested in being the exclusive distributor for the UK.
If you can afford to shop at TT pay the prices, if you can't afford to pay the prices shop somewhere else.
Some people shop at waitrose some shop a lidl's, no one says waitrose are profiteering!
I would question the op's motives 12 posts and one of his first was to start the kick TT UK post.

I cant believe it this is still going on!!
Just don't use them, if you think too dear, then they will eventually have to do a number of things either sell via web, go under or reduce cost of items.
If people want to spend there hard earned £££ in TT good for them, they can fill there boots.
I pers don't have a prob with them I have brought items of them as could not find it elsewhere, it is called shopping around simples.

I`m sure that this is an open forum. If you don`t want to read about people complaining about unfair trading practices, then don`t read it. Don`t come on and complain about folk complaining.
I hate the uderlying insinuation in some of these posts that it`s only folk that are obviously poor that complain about the likes of Touratech, crap!! Plenty have the free cash, but aren`t as accepting of being ripped off.

Oh you know what, sack that off... Question my motives? Go take a long walk off a short cliff.
Throughout this entire thread I've been trying to keep this on topic about (read what the title says) possibly illegal EU trading practices.
I go out of my way time and time again not to point this at TTUK but to question TTGermany's refusal to ship to the UK despite happily shipping to most of the rest of Europe (or, failing that, having nearly the same prices in the rest of Europe).
This wasn't about the merits, or otherwise, of TT gear over anyone else's, or about who could afford what, I was asking how they could get away with forcing us to buy through the UK arm and refusing to ship direct from Germany, meaning UK people would need to pay the 30%++ markup on what the rest of Europe is paying.

I get the point.
Just curious though; would you have the same issue with parts from Wunderlich sold in UK?

I know it's a long shot, but I thought if we could show that they were breaking EU law then they might change their ways, it'd certainly make for a good magazine article.
Cheers
Walk off a short cliff?? why would anyone do that, you might get your feet wet.
Above is your 4th post on the subject, so i was curious as to your motives.
As with everything, if you can't afford something go elsewhere, maybe Rugged Roads could help you with a more friendly for your wallet solution.
TTUK charge what they charge for the product, they have to buy the product from Germany ship it over, store it, then sell it and still have to make money.
If i ran the UK side of the UK TT franchise i would be pissed if i spent money advertising etc etc and then the product could be bought direct from Germany and shipped to the UK.
@Brads, yes it is a public forum, and as such i guess we should all be careful what is insinuated and said.
I get fed up with people kicking TTUK, yes some things are expensive and some things not.
It is simple if you don't like the prices go shop somewhere else.
Do we complain to Tesco about the price of baked beans v's Aldi? No we just buy them at Aldi.
Nice fire tray Al, is it in the new catalouge??
