TOPIC: Irish Rover

Irish Rover 10 months, 3 weeks ago #147207

Hi all,

I recently discovered the ABR magazine and in turn the website, which has captured my imagination.

I'm working as a seaman, so I dont get out on my bike as much as I'd like to.

My steed of choice is my 9 YO Indian Classic Enfield, that I bought new in 2003.

Most of my adventures, consist of a few days camping and hostelling around the back roads & green lanes of Ireland.

I've made a few mods to the old girl to help her run better over our rough Highways & Byways:

- Extra tooth on Drive Sprocket, to give better cruising speed.
- Softer front springs, I only weigh 62 kgs.
- Slightly longer & softer Hagon Rear Shocks.
- Bigger jets in carb.
- Less restrictive exhaust.
- 7.62 Ammo Boxes bracketed to rear carrier, carrying, footpump, tools, cables, etc.
- 20 Ltr Tank, for some extra range.

I cant by any stretch of the imagination, call myself a serious ABR, however I look forward to reading all your stories and adventures.

Ride Safe all.

John.

Welcome from sunny Stourbridge. Went to sea for 12 years then had enough, but still like going back and having a look every now again cheers Spud

Hi from Co Antrim ... where are you based John?

Thought I'd also welcome you on by sharing a photo of my old Bullet ... (with custom 20l tank and leather seat)

I had this when I lived in India for a couple of years. Really miss it!!
