Hi . Ideas for bike. 11 months ago #146175

Hi folks!

Just thought i'd say hello as i have just registered. I am also looking for some advice from you guy's.
I have been riding some fast bikes over the years and racing last 2 years but had my fill of racing etc..!! Always wanted to travel on a nice big trail bike and have a bit of comfort too.
Want a bit of grunt and decent looks plus reliability. Not too bothered ref price as ill be saving a fortune if im not racing!! Look forward to any advice on this matter.

Cheers
Gary.

Welcome aboard Sir,
test ride a BMW 1200 GS, 800GS
KTM 990 ( maybe a 690)
Yamaha Tenere

That would be my list to start with

I`m sure others will be along to add theirs to it.
Try and decide what sort of riding you will be doing IE.
A blast out on a Sunday?
Touring?
Taking some green lanes in if you fancy?
Buggering off round the world?
Have fun deciding.

Greetings from Essex Gary,
have fun test riding a few bikes you've got a hell of a lot to choose from, try the R1200GS, Multistrada, Super Tenere, Triumph 800

Re: Hi . Ideas for bike. 11 months ago #146246

The new super tenere 1200 will do just fine

Get a Harley and upset all the Harley Crowd by taking it up green lanes and covering it in S**t. Also amuses all the enduro lads.

GS every time.

However for big mile munching days i have had to invest in an Airhawk as the seat is not to my liking. Good for up to about 300miles but after that i start to loose the will to carry on. Aftermarket ones are obviously available but at a price.

Still would not have any other bike though
