I bought my Couriers in 1999 - yep 1999. At a cost if I remember correctly of £135.

Since purchasing them 13 years ago, I have replaced the toe plates twice and also had them resoled. Local business put Vibram commando pattern soles on for £20.

I regularly coat the boots in Renapur wax. After resoling i also had to run 'Shoe Glue' round the join between the boot and the new sole.

They have been waterproof throughout the time I have owned them - except once resoled. Hence the Shoe Glue. Once I had coated the join in the glue, once again not a drop of water has got into the boot.

Comfortable when new, comfortable now. Leather has no cracks, the buckles have never broken (this can happen fairly easily I believe).

The one criticism I have of the boots is the lack of warmth. I ride year round in Scotland and find my toes can get cold through the winter. Although bear in mind I do ride in minus figure temperatures. Trick here is to wear mountaineering socks and keep the boot buckles reasonably loose to make sure there are air gaps to warm up round your tootsies.

Other than that I really cant complain about them. Although I couldnt afford to replace them with a new pair of Sidi Courier or Adventure boots. They seem very expensive these days.

But I would love to own a new pair. Although I think I might get another three years or so out of this pair.

Well, I brought a pair of these 7 years ago after I broke my leg and couldn't get my old boots over my swollen ankle. Anyway, I soon binned the old boots and have been wearing these ever since. About 20000 miles later and they are still going strong.

Not as waterproof as they look, but nothing a pair of goretex socks (or plastic bags!) doesn't solve.

Overall, a good hard wearing and comfy pair of boots. Recommended.

A strong, reliable boot ideal for hard riding. The cam straps are ideal for quickly getting the boots on and off unlike previous boots i have had. Although MX style i use these boots for touring as are extremely comfy for walking in. One downside is that i also found that they are not 100% water tight, although not far off. I'd buy again.

So, after 10 long months of "shopping around" (read; procrastination), I finally took the plunge and rode over to Bradford Motorcycles yesterday and bought a pair of Sidi Courier boots for the discounted price of 150-00. It took me so long because I am super fussy about pretty much anything I buy these days - is it an age thing I ask myself?

Anyway, so far, so good (I wore them on the way back home via my brothers for tea). Comfy, well made, nicely finished and constructed (believe me, I know a thing or two about footwear). The only failing is, despite their lining, they did let a little water in. As I said, I know a thing or two about boots and I put this down to the fact they are "welt stitched". So, within the not too distant future, I am going to get some "welt seal" and clart it on all around the exposed stitching around the sole. That should cure it.

Watch this space for the results...!

Sidi Courier Boots - Part 2

As promised, here I am again with an update....

So, it's been over a year since I became the proud owner of a spanking new pair of Sidi Courier boots. You remember I had an issue with them not being watertight. Well, after having carefully clarted* on some "Shoe Goo" (available at any good outdoor shop) around the welt on each boot I can report these boots are watertight. I've been out in some pretty horendous weather and without exception, I got back home with warm dry feet. I know sometime they will start to let water in again but I will then carefully scrape the old Shoe Goo off and re-apply some new stuff. To conclude; these boots are great, they are super comfy, hard wearing and watertight! Would I buy another pair - you bet! I only hope Sidi continue making them....

* "clart" - a technical term from the north of England meaning "to spread" smilies/smiley.gif

Sidi Courier boots after 3 years
0
Had these for 3 years, not used everyday, I am a weekend warriorsmilies/grin.gif

Still stiff and I find I can't get them inside any riding trousers I have

But these things are perfect in most respects, mine have never leaked and still look like new

Feel confident when wearing them and would score 10/10
