So just bought the Schuberth C3 flip up lid,yes I know they are expensive very infact but you get what you pay.First impression very good I tried a few sizes on in the shop to get a good comfortable fit, then went out for a ride.Putting the helmet on is simple of course and closing down the flip was just as easy it also locks closed with a good solid click. The locking mechanisum on the chin strap is different but easy to use too,you just slide the two pieces together and it locks on its own then you just pull a small tab to release it.I always use earplugs so can't say how quite it is without them.On the move I found it very easy to open and close the visor with either hand as there is a lip on both sides of the visor. The sun visor is just as easy to use by a single slide on the left side of the helmet at the base.I was only out for about an hour but have no complaints about comfort or fit. When I got back I had a go at removing the visor, this again was very easy so should have no trouble in the future for cleaning or swapping. So in a nut shell I'm very chuffed with my new helmet. Ok so had this lid a few months now and have to say for quality, ease of use, visor and sun screen can't fault it its pretty quite too but its not as comfortable as my old Arai pity because after spending that kind of cash I expected more and before you ask yes it did feel get in all aspects when I tried it on in the shop.Maybe there should be a try before you buy option ? I wanted a flip-up helmet and this fitted the bill. I wore it in the shop and it seems ok but it doesn't really fit my oval shaped bonce. The pin-lock visor mists up in very heavy rain and vents are not that effective - especially the chin vent. I also thought it was noisy compared to my old Arai SV. I like the flip up facility although it catches the intercom mic occasionally when you clos it. Overall, I would buy a proper full face helmet (another Arai?). Clothing Review

This is a quality lid, I find the fit very good and for a flip front lid is a reasonable weight. I have used it on some long rides and it is fine. In the past, I have always used earplugs, but for smaller runs now I find I don't need them, though my old GS's engine rattles are audible. The sun visor is very handy too, especially when the sun is low in the sky. The main stumbling point is that it's a pricey lid, the BMW System 6 might be a good alternative and is a bit cheaper. Recommended. Clothing Review
