I’m 6’0” and slim build. This is the XXL which is the only sixe that fitted me. When I first bought it was tight and very very stiff on the elbows so much so for the first three months or so it caused chafing on the inner elbow (?). With a very thick neck warmer or two the Velcro flap at the neck didn’t quire meet without strangulation. Eventually is bedded in and all was well.
Having said all that it was a very good jacket and all the pockets have been and are waterproof. They’re well designed for opening and shutting with gloves.
The inner liner removes for the odd hot day and the air vents when closed don’t leak through the liner.
The rear bum bag pocket carries spare neckwarmer and paracetamol. I don’t notice they’re there.
Overall I’ve been impressed up until now. Two and a half years later it’s so loose and floppy like it’s lost its structure and the Cordura is starting to fray in places. I’ve only washed it twice according to manufacturers instructions and properly re-waterproofed. When in the wet now the Cordura soaks up the water but it still doesn't get through the GoreTex.
I’m not a pure ‘only buy Hein Gericke’ but it has drifted that way with trousers and boots.
Having paid over £200 just over two years ago I’d have thought it would have stood the test of time a bit better.
