Done about 24K in two years - more miles that any previous bike. Great fun machine with loads of character. Long stroke pushrod engine is agricultural - but I like that. For a 1957 design engine it can be pretty rapid - when in tune. I have stage one tune race ECM & lowered gearing.

Off road it is twitchy and gets stuck easy - but is fine for gravel tracks and such like.

Low maintenance - belt drive and hyraulic valve clearances mean not much maintenance is needed - apart from fixing the silly thing that Buell allowed to slip by quality control.

For the money it is a great bike. :)

I liked Handling - adjustable front & back and rear damper on the move! Seat is great. Light weight feel. Torque & more torque. Oh and the sound with the right cans - of which I have tried several. Good fuel economy too
I Disliked Reliability issues - fueling and ECM issues - all well known
Would you buy again Yes
In one line Torqiest and handliest ADV bike for low bucks
Grin Factor (0=crap 10=I loved it) 9 most of the time

I HAVE OWNED MY ULYSSES SINCE 2006. IT HAS LOGGED MORE KILOS THAN ANY OF MY OTHER 3 BIKES. MOSTLY TWO UP. MOSTLY LONG DISTANCE AND EVEN SOME DIRT. MANY MOUNTAIN PASSES. WHAT A SCRATCHER. WHAT AN ADDICTIVE BIKE WITH THAT FANTASTIC TORQUE - 115Nm IS ADDICTIVE. ITS ALL THERE. TWIST AND GO ! ITS MUCH QUICKER THAN YOU THINK AND IT HANDLES !

I HAVE NEVER LOVED A BIKE AS MUCH AS THIS ONE AND I HAVE OWNED MORE THAN 53 BIKES IN MY 37 YEARS OF RIDING !

I THINK THE ONLY BIKE THAT WILL BE IN THE SAME CATEGORY OF FUN WILL BE THE TRIUMPH 1200 ADVENTURER THAT WE MUST STILL SEE....

YOU CAN PICK UP A ULY FOR A VERY GOOD PRICE NOWADAYS ! GO GET ONE ! IT IS A TOURER PAR-EXELANCE !

Grin factor is 10, but I only kept it for a year, you need to be tall with long legs (or buy the XT model) and I am still not sure why I sold it and I would have another one
