Hi guys-just would like you to look at my project which will kick off in november-any emails, comments, advice would be great-anyone got good pannier contacts in the south of england?

As I will be leaving on November 1st from Biddenden High Street in Kent now is the right time to ask if any bikers would come down to Biddenden to support me when I leave-if you are in the area.I would really appreciate it as BBC will be there and it would make for much more spectacular viewing. There is plenty of parking-it would be great to have support

Hi Spencer,
The first thing I have to get out in the open is...I'm right bloody jealous.

A couple of things; you are more than welcome to use the blog facility on the site to post up reports on your preparation and progress. In fact I'd welcome it. It'll provide you with good coverage and also be of interest to people who visit this site, a win-win if you like.

On a more personal note if you've any questions about gear please ask on the forum. I've not travelled that much in Africa on a motorcycle but I have hiked and climbed in many of the countries on your route. And, no matter if you're carrying your possessions on your back or in a set of panniers you're going to need gear that performs and I've years of experience in that area.

How accurate is that route map on your site? The reason I ask is that the line you've drawn across Mali and Mauritania is taking you through serious country.
