suzuki v strom 650 xpeditionSuzuki's popular V-Strom 650 adventure range sees the arrival of a new flagship model this month, with the launch of the V-Strom 650 XPEDITION.

Based on the V-Strom 650 ABS model, the new tougher XP version, boasts a list of extras, providing a comprehensive list of practical accessories at a good value price.

Featuring hard-wearing black aluminium panniers with a total carrying capacity of 82 litres, the XP is the tough and effective alternative, thanks to the provision of engine and hand guards, centre-stand and an aluminium sump guard as part of its unique specification.

Suzuki GB sales and marketing director, David Taylor, commented, "The V-Strom 650 is still a hugely popular model for us, so we are delighted to be able to offer a new flagship model with tough and practical additions. On top of this, with a recommended retail price of just £7,300, the XP represents exceptional value."

Available in Candy Max Orange and Metallic Oort Grey colour schemes, the V-Strom 650XP will be available in dealers shortly.

I like the wee-strom - comfy, fun and gives the impression it can do some real miles. Its a serious contender for my next bike. That said, I had a look at the Eped last week - and I have doubts about the panniers, they looked... cheap, lightweight and they also stick out quite a bit. I might prefer to but a standard one and do some diy work, much like the guys on the above link.

Will Suzuki?

Will it come out with the 1000 engine, this would be a great competitor to the Yamaha Super Tenere and possible the GS?
