There's just three weeks remaining for UK GS riders to sign up for the 2012 BMW GS Trophy qualifiers, taking place 18-20 May at the East of England Showground, Peterborough.
Only a handful of places remain in the qualifiers, which will see competitors battle it out over a range of off-road challenges set by veteran Dakar rider and BMW Off Road Skills chief instructor Simon Pavey. Interested ABRs are advised to book their place as soon as possible at http://www.offroadskills.com/uk-gs-trophy-qualifier-regulations.
The three successful qualifying riders chosen by Pavey will go on to represent Britain in the International Final of the 2012 BMW Motorrad GS Trophy against teams from over a dozen countries. This year's rigorous 10-day 1,240-mile event will take place late November in South America.
“In 2010, we found three amazing riders who went on to win the tournament in South Africa," says Pavey. "This year, we’re going to have a bigger and more exciting event, held right at the heart of the BMF show. My team and I will put on a hell of a show, and hopefully find the 2012 GS Trophy champions, too.”
To qualify for the event, riders must own a BMW GS motorcycle, hold a British passport and full motorcycle licence and be aged 21 or over. The qualifiers cost £150 per rider and £50 per guest by going. For the full terms and conditions of entry go to http://www.offroadskills.com/off-road-adventures/gs-trophy-regs
