Following its launch at Motorcycle Live, ABRs will get a chance for another close-up look at Shoei’s brand-new drop-down visor system helmet when it goes on show at the Excel next month, before it’s released on sale to the general public.
The Neotec, Shoei’s first ever drop-down visor helmet, will be exhibited 2-5 February at the MCN Motorcycle Show. The company claims it ‘sets new standards in safety and style’, and reports so far suggest the new design has been well received. “The Neotec helmet is a product of Shoei listening to the needs of their customers,” explains Feridax’s Mark Ingleby.
“It offers the riding comfort of an integral sun visor without the overall safety being weakened by a compromised shell density. This has been achieved by placing a shell on the outside of the helmet surface, while keeping the same thickness of Shoei’s proven inner lining, a staple of the company’s helmet range.”
Other features of the Neotec include a replaceable anti-fog and scratch-coated visor, which is claimed to block 99 per cent of UV rays; a stainless steel micro-ratchet system; vortex generators for improved ventilation and airflow, and additional space inside the shell, as well as a 3-D detachable and washable centre pad and ear pads designed to reduce wind noise.
For the fashion conscious ABR, the Neotec is available in six finish and colour options, including a special ‘wine red’, and sizes XS-M, L, and XL-XXL. Keep your eyes open for a full review of the Shoei Neotec in a forthcoming issue of Adventure Bike Rider magazine. For more information, see www.feridax.com
