An ABR-ing couple who rode their motorbikes half way round the world are opening a new business to help other adventure riders explore the planet on two wheels.
Cliff and Jenny Batley from Sudbury, Suffolk, covered over 26,000 miles on their 12-month biking odyssey, riding matching BMW F650s across nearly 30 countries before reaching their furthest destination in New Zealand.
“We had an incredible year,” said Jenny “It was a really fascinating journey and we saw some incredible sights and met some incredible people.
Now the Batleys are launching The Adventure Bike Shop to help fellow travellers prepare and equip their ABR-ing machines for long-distance challenges.
“We realised that the right equipment as well as proper planning were the keys to a successful trip,” explained Jenny. “And that applies if you’re heading for the other side of the world or just touring Europe.”
The couple, who have been trading as Two Wheel Trekkers for the last two years, already have experience of retailing luggage and other ABR-ing gear online. They now plan to expand their business with The Adventure Bike Shop to offer a wider range of products and a complete bike preparation service as well.
The Adventure Bike Shop is holding a grand opening weekend on 11-12 February at its premises in Unit 19 Inca Business Park in Acton. For more information, call 01787-372901 or e-mail
